At 4 km of Nieuwpoort-Stad you can find Nieuwpoort-Bad, a pleasant family town by the sea with a huge range of recreation possibilities on or by the sandy beach and the traffic free Zeedijk.
A nice long beach with great restaurants and beach bars guarantees lovely beach days. If you want to do some shopping, you should go to the Albert I-laan and the Promenade by the port. They offer you mix of trendy fashion and lifestyle shops.
Walking and Cycling
Not only the North Sea draws thousands of visitors to this area each year, the IJer that flows into the sea near Nieuwpoort can also charm every nature lover’s heart. So whether you’re into taking a walk or a cycling trip on the Promenade, the Quai, the Seawall or on the Easter and Western pier, want to discover the city along the thousands of masts in the biggest marina of Europe and through the picturesque, historical centre or want to admire the beauty of the nature around the IJzer statuary – the possibilities for a relaxing stay in Nieuwpoort with beautiful walking- and cycling routes are endless. Fun in and on the water
The reservoir at the right bank of the IJzer is the place to be to enjoy all sorts of recreation in and on the water. You can enjoy a relaxing day out on the sea in an authentic sailing ship, as well as face the waves yourself on a surfing board. There is something for every water lover!
